From 8 June to 28 July, the monasteries of St. Florian, Kremsmünster, Wilhering, Lambach and Schlierbach invite you to a total of 19 events.
A summer full of musical highlights
The artistic director of the Stiftskonzerte, Rico Gulda, follows Oscar Wilde's motto: "Only the best is good enough for our audience!" And so the 2024 season promises a selection of artists and programmes that meet the highest standards. Inspired by the themes of "Night", "Venice" and important anniversaries, visitors can expect unique sound experiences.
The concerts of the 2024 season are divided into four "concert lines", offering a diverse selection:
- Abbey Concerts Classical: With renowned ensembles such as the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and the Belcea Quartet as well as soloists such as Rudolf Buchbinder and Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, this line promises unforgettable classical moments.
- Stiftskonzerte Klassik Extended: This line explores new artistic approaches with artists such as Jakub Józef Orlinski, Lucie Horsch and Chanticleer, who explore what is musically possible.
- Stiftskonzerte Landpartie: Here, the classical concert experience is combined with a casual flair and relaxed ambience, for example with performances by Viennese soul ensembles such as the 5/8erl in Ehr'n.
- Stiftskonzerte Family: A special production by the Wiener Musikverein invites children and the young at heart on a musical journey, accompanied by music workshops for curious minds as part of the 0Ö. KulturEXPO Anton Bruckner 2024.
The highlights of the new abbey concert season 2024
A special highlight are the "Notturnos", which capture the special atmosphere of the monastery nights and present them in a new format. The "AnSTIFTungen" offer a variety of artist talks, introductions and workshops to provide the audience with deeper insights. Cooperations with local cultural initiatives and concert partnerships contribute to the diversity of the programme and enable special events to be held in unusual locations. The "Teeniepass" also makes the Stiftskonzerte affordable and attractive for a young audience.
All in all, the 51st season of the OÖ. Stiftskonzerte promises an unforgettable journey through the world of music that will touch the hearts and senses of visitors in equal measure.
