Football inspires millions of people, fosters a sense of community and brings generations together. But the sport can offer far more than just entertainment: it can also take on social responsibility and support people in need. This is precisely what the ÖFB Charity is committed to.

Through a range of initiatives, the Austrian Football Association’s social initiative is committed to charitable causes and supports people in need as well as social organisations. These projects are funded, among other things, by the annual ÖFB Christmas bazaar and online charity auctions, at which signed fan merchandise and special memorabilia are sold. Time and again, companies and partners from the business world also get involved to send a joint message of solidarity and social cohesion. A recent example of this comes from Quality Austria.

A joint gesture for social cohesion

Last week, the Quality Austria team held a ceremony at the ÖFB Campus in Vienna to present a donation cheque for 5,000 euros to ÖFB Charity. The company emphasises that, particularly in economically challenging times,

social engagement is more important than ever to strengthen stability and cohesion in society, the company emphasises.

The donation is intended to help support people and organisations in need of assistance. At the same time, the initiative highlights how important cooperation between business, sport and social initiatives has become.

Bernhard Neuhold, Managing Director of ÖFB Wirtschaftsbetriebe GmbH, also sees this as an important signal: “Football plays a significant role in our society. We therefore see it as our responsibility, through ÖFB Charity, to give something back to those who need support in difficult times. We thank Quality Austria for their donation and the contribution it makes!”

When team spirit extends beyond sport

Quality Austria is also convinced that sport and business can achieve a great deal together. The focus is particularly on the idea of teamwork and mutual support. “We can learn a great deal from sport about social cohesion and teamwork – thanks to our excellent collaboration with the ÖFB, we are therefore particularly delighted to be able to make a contribution to a good cause in this World Cup year!” said Quality Austria’s co-managing directors Dr Werner Paar and Mag. Christoph Mondl.

#absolutelybrilliant when companies, organisations and sports associations join forces to launch initiatives that have an impact far beyond the world of sport.

It's nice to see so many positive things:
