A special highlight is the annual carnival party, which is organised together with the Pasching Parent and Child Centre (EKiZ). Over 240 visitors fill the Volkshaus St. Martin with colourful costumes, games, music and good cheer. The children's flea market is also a fixture in many families' calendars - a practical opportunity to shop sustainably and have a chat at the same time. And when stories come to life at the storytelling theatre, it becomes clear that one thing counts above all else at the Kinderfreunde - togetherness.
The work of the Kinderfreunde is organised entirely on a voluntary basis and is based on the principle of solidarity. No distinctions are made here - every child is welcome. Parents also find support and dialogue in the community. The events not only promote creativity and play, but also strengthen the social fabric of the town.
Support from the business world - two generations, one commitment
Making all this possible requires not only heart, but also help. Organisations such as the Kinderfreunde depend on the support of the local economy. One of the most loyal partners is Födinger Heizung Bad GmbH from Traun.
The connection between the company and Kinderfreunde goes beyond sponsorship. Markus Jarosch, a long-standing employee at Födinger, has been involved with Kinderfreunde for many years. His daughter Steffi Jarosch is now also involved on a voluntary basis - and, like her father, also works at Födinger. Two generations, one employer, one common cause: giving children joy and shaping the future. And by the way: the aforementioned Petra Schatz is Steffi Jarosch's mum.
"I grew up with the Kinderfreunde - it was a matter of course for me to get involved myself,"
says Steffi Jarosch. "It's nice to see how much you can achieve with small things. And the fact that I can now share this commitment with my dad makes it even more special."
