Around 700 employees generate an annual turnover of more than 330 million euros. What is particularly noteworthy is that around 90 per cent of this turnover is generated through exports. The Hochreiter Food Group has thus evolved from a regional family business into an internationally successful player in the food sector.
Exports as a key driver of growth
The international focus has been an integral part of the company’s strategy for many years. The main markets are in Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom. At the same time, Belgium, the Netherlands and several countries in Central and Eastern Europe are becoming increasingly important.
Through its companies Hochreiter Fleischwaren GmbH and Condeli, the group supplies customers in numerous European countries. Whilst Hochreiter Fleischwaren specialises in ready-made meat and sausage products for the international food retail sector, Condeli – as Europe’s second-largest lasagne producer – ranks among the leading manufacturers of lasagne and fresh convenience products.
Silver Pegasus for outstanding export performance
The group’s international strength has now also been recognised with the prestigious 2026 Pegasus Business Award. In the ‘Export Champion’ category, the Hochreiter Food Group received the Silver Pegasus. The award honours companies that impress through exceptional achievements in the export business and through sustainable international development.
“The Silver Pegasus Business Award 2026 in the ‘Export Champion’ category is a special honour for our entire team. It confirms that we are on the right track by consistently focusing on quality, innovation and sustainable growth. “I would like to thank all our staff, whose daily commitment has made a significant contribution to this success. At the same time, we see this award as an incentive to further strengthen our international market position and achieve new successes in international markets,” says owner and managing director Wolfgang Hochreiter, expressing his delight at the award.
Quality, Innovation and Responsibility
The success of the Hochreiter Food Group is based on a clear strategic focus, continuous investment in modern production sites, uncompromising quality standards and a high level of innovation. Other key factors for success include the professional expertise of our staff, long-term customer relationships and a consistent international focus.
The group stands for quality, reliability and a reputation for keeping its word. As a family-run business, Hochreiter combines traditional values with state-of-the-art technology and international competitiveness. Its aim is to produce high-quality food, create sustainable jobs and assume long-term responsibility for the region, its staff and its partners.
#schongenial, because with an export share of around 90 per cent, the Hochreiter Food Group is now one of Austria’s most international food companies.
