Commitment to people, culture and education
Through its wide-ranging commitment, the shareholding administration strengthens the quality of life in Upper Austria in a variety of ways. It promotes social, cultural and sporting initiatives that bring people together and thus strengthen social cohesion.
Every year, considerable funds are channelled into charitable projects:
- Social responsibility: supporting social and charitable institutions such as the Samaritans, Caritas or regional aid organisations that support people in difficult life situations.
- Children and youth: promoting educational and leisure initiatives that encourage young people to discover their talents and take on responsibility. This includes, for example, school projects for financial education, learning support programmes or youth and sports clubs in the municipalities.
- Art and culture: The share administration contributes to the cultural diversity of the country: from music and theatre events to regional festivals and the promotion of local artists. This strengthens cultural commitment as an essential part of a society worth living in.
- Sport and health: The promotion of popular sport, local clubs and health-orientated activities also takes centre stage in order to promote community.
Financial education is a particular concern: People should learn to handle money safely, responsibly and confidently. Through workshops, school projects and cooperation with educational institutions, financial knowledge is communicated in an understandable way - a decisive contribution to personal independence and social participation.
Equally important is the support of the "Second Savings Bank", which helps people who are excluded from regular banking due to strokes of fate or difficult life situations. This is where the original idea of the savings bank movement can be seen in its purest form: Helping people to help themselves, dignity and trust.
In addition, share management is increasingly involved in sustainable and future-orientated projects. Whether through initiatives for ecological responsibility, support for sustainable start-ups or co-operation with regional companies - the focus is always on the benefits for people, the environment and the region.
Living responsibility for the region
"As a stable majority shareholder of Sparkasse Oberösterreich Bank AG, we act as a strategic partner and reliable supporter of the bank. At the same time, we take responsibility for the people and the future of our region. In the spirit of our founding idea, we promote numerous initiatives that make our environment more social, fairer and healthier. I am very much looking forward to the challenge ahead," confirms Herbert Auer, who recently became the new Chairman of the Share Management Board.
We find this form of practised responsibility #schongenial.
