Under the guidance of Judith and Gregor Bayer, the forest becomes a living learning environment where curiosity, initiative and the joy of discovery shape everyday life. Whether overcoming natural obstacles, working together on creative projects or exploring their surroundings, the children develop motor skills, creativity and self-confidence. At the same time, they learn the importance of mutual consideration, working together and using natural resources responsibly. This lays a valuable foundation for self-determined and socially responsible development.
A sense of security as a valuable complement to nature
To ensure that the little explorers have a sheltered retreat even on particularly inclement days, the forest kindergarten has been extended to include a new heated room. This project was made possible by financial support from the Share Management Department of Sparkasse Oberösterreich.
Designed and built by the Steyr-based architectural firm Archionic, the warm room – with its functional yet inviting design – fits seamlessly into the overall nature-based educational concept. It offers a space to warm up, rest and enjoy moments together, without detracting from the central importance of learning and playing in nature.
Social responsibility begins with the youngest
By supporting this project, Sparkasse Oberösterreich underlines its commitment to early childhood education and social responsibility. After all, investment in child-friendly development spaces is also an investment in the future of a community.
“Children need spaces where they can try things out, grow and discover the world. The forest kindergarten impressively demonstrates how valuable educational work in and with nature can be achieved. We are delighted to be able to contribute to this special programme with the new heated shelter,” explains Herbert Auer, Chairman of the Board of Anteilsverwaltung Sparkasse Oberösterreich.
The added value of this initiative goes far beyond the immediate improvement in childcare conditions. Children who experience a sense of self-efficacy, develop social skills and gain an awareness of ecological interdependencies from a young age acquire essential prerequisites for responsible social interaction.
#schongenial, because this forest kindergarten thus combines individual developmental support with a sustainable outlook for future generations.
