The motto "Those who help others and are there for them get a lot in return!" reflects the important role of volunteer work in our society.
The invisible pillars of our society!
Living examples of this valuable work are Josef Manigatterer and Monika Dornetshuber from the Peuerbach branch, who have been involved in "Meals on Wheels" for many years. Day after day, they are there for people who would not be able to cope with everyday life without outside help. They not only provide hot meals, but also time and human closeness. Their commitment and that of many other volunteers in the Upper Austrian Red Cross. Red Cross are an indispensable part of a civil society based on solidarity that ensures systemically relevant help in the long term.
Monika and Josef are just two examples of countless volunteers who get involved out of a desire to help others. They put people at the centre of their actions and help to make things better for us all. Their commitment is not only evident in the direct help they provide on site, but also in educational initiatives such as the voluntary reading and learning coaching that the Upper Austrian Red Cross has been offering at schools since 2018. Red Cross has been offering at schools since 2018.
An act of love that changes the world!
The volunteers of the OÖ. Red Cross volunteers are a diverse and committed team that includes people of all ages and from all parts of society. Whether in the Youth Red Cross, in the rescue service, in helping people at risk of poverty, with meals on wheels or in the visiting service - there is a suitable opportunity for everyone to get involved and be part of a lively community.
