This year's motto is: Help however you want. Social media users can take part in a variety of ways and donate soups: Drei is collecting kilometres for humanity on Facebook and LinkedIn, on TikTok the soup is passed on by stitch, and on Instagram every shared soup picture turns into a real, warm meal. Together with its community, Drei is ensuring that the soup bus continues to travel reliably through the city and distribute hot meals. The campaign runs until 28 January 2025.
"Our join-in campaign on Facebook and LinkedIn is already a tradition. In previous years, we have already collected around 175,000 hot soups in this way, and the community is once again highly motivated," explains Rudolf Schrefl, CEO of Drei. "This year, I'm particularly pleased that our younger fans on TikTok and Instagram can also contribute to the success of the campaign."
All proceeds from the "Drei Hilft" winter campaign will go to the Caritas soup bus. Caritas Director Klaus Schwertner emphasises the importance of the initiative:
"The winter months pose major challenges for homeless people and those affected by poverty. At the same time, rising housing and energy costs are putting more and more people in need. The Canisibus is a concrete help here: 365 days a year, volunteers distribute hot soup and give a little bit of hope. Drei Hilft's winter campaign shows that everyone can help and make a significant difference. Solidarity is particularly valuable in these difficult times. Thank you very much for that."
Soup, bread and hospitality
Every evening, including at weekends and on public holidays, the Canisibus travels its routes in Vienna to distribute hot soup and bread to people in need. The two food buses and an eBike stop at ten fixed locations at the same time every day. For many of the up to 400 guests, this is the only hot meal of the day. In total, the volunteers distribute around 100,000 freshly prepared portions of soup every year.
Drei Hilft: part of Drei's sustainability strategy
Great corporate responsibility goes hand in hand with great commitment. "Drei Hilft", Drei's social initiative, is one of the four pillars of the company's sustainability strategy. In cooperation with selected partners, Drei Hilft supports people in Austria. As a UNICEF emergency aid partner, Drei Hilft is also committed to helping children in crisis areas around the world. Since the start of the initiative, over one million euros have been provided for projects against poverty, for people with disabilities, against violence against women and children as well as for (digital) education and inclusion.
