Hilfswerk International is one of Austria’s leading organisations in the field of humanitarian aid and development cooperation. Since 1978, the organisation has been supporting people in crisis-hit and poverty-stricken regions, not only with emergency aid but, above all, through sustainable projects that create long-term prospects. Its work focuses on education, health, food security, water and sanitation, and psychosocial support. Together with local partner organisations, Hilfswerk International is now active in more than 30 countries and aims to help people improve their living conditions sustainably through their own efforts.

A powerful gesture of solidarity

The long-standing partnership between Quality Austria and Hilfswerk International demonstrates that sustainable development can only be achieved through joint efforts. As part of the qualityaustria Excellence Day 2026, Quality Austria presented a donation of 20,000 euros to Hilfswerk International. At a time when many international aid organisations are facing major challenges due to declining public funding and growing global crises, this support sends an important message.

The donation will go towards projects that offer practical help to people in difficult circumstances whilst also facilitating long-term development. This not only alleviates immediate hardship but also lays the foundations for greater self-reliance, education and future prospects.
