Working together worldwide for sustainable change

Coca-Cola Foundation, sustainability, drinking water

The Coca-Cola Foundation was founded in 1984 as the charitable arm of The Coca-Cola Company. Since then, it has been committed to the common good worldwide and has campaigned for sustainable, social and ecological improvements in over 190 countries.

Its activities focus on issues such as environmental protection, education, economic empowerment and humanitarian aid - with the aim of enabling long-term change for people and communities.

Ensuring access to clean water

Water is one of the world's most important resources - but for millions of people, clean drinking water is still not a matter of course. The Coca-Cola Foundation supports projects around the world that improve access to safe water, protect water sources and promote sustainable water use. This is done, for example, by building wells, installing filter systems or training local communities in dealing with water scarcity and management.

Educational opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people

Education is the key to equal opportunities and social progress. The Coca-Cola Foundation invests specifically in educational initiatives that give disadvantaged children and young people access to school education, digital learning opportunities and vocational qualifications. Projects that open up new prospects for girls, young adults or underrepresented groups are particularly favoured.

For example, the Coca-Coal Foundation supports 18 Caritas learning cafés where children from migrant backgrounds receive free tutoring, learning support and social counselling.

Empowering women - economically and socially

The economic and social empowerment of women is another key focus. The Coca-Cola Foundation supports programmes that make it easier for women to become self-employed, give them access to microloans or improve their chances on the labour market through vocational training and further education.

It's nice to see so many positive things:
