A platform for young ideas
The Future Award is aimed at pupils in the upper years of academic secondary schools and vocational colleges who have submitted their pre-university research projects or dissertations. We are looking for projects with a focus on the future – ranging from artificial intelligence, health and sustainability to new working environments and smart mobility. The best projects were awarded prize money of up to 500 euros.
Particularly exciting: the finalists present their projects live at Future Day in Graz. There, they must not only explain their ideas in technical terms but also convince the audience with short pitches. The projects are judged by a jury comprising representatives from industry and academia. This transforms a traditional final project into a genuine innovation competition. The winners were:

- Styrian Industrial Association Award in the New Work category: Igor Thaller | Erich Fried Realgymnasium
- K1 Group Award in the Construction & Infrastructure category: Maximilian Fischer | Petrinum Episcopal Grammar School, Linz
- KAGes Award in the Health & Care category: Michal Sysel, David Chencean, Samuel Brunner and Georg Kotzian | HTL Rennweg Vienna
- Kleine Zeitung Award in the Media & Communication category: Nicole Sunko and Bernadette Hohensinger | BAFEP Mureck
Experiencing the future rather than just talking about it
Future Day itself is conceived as an interactive festival of the future. Alongside the Future Award presentations, workshops, advisory sessions and insights into a wide variety of career fields await the young people. The aim is to provide young people with guidance whilst sparking an interest in science, technology and creative problem-solving.
