appreciation, making positive things visible, already ingenious

The Vienna Tourist Board app "ivie" is about to reach the magical one million downloads mark. Since its launch in 2020, the year of the pandemic, the app has become an indispensable companion for tourists and locals who want to discover Vienna in all its facets.

ivie app conquers the tourist world

"ivie" offers a wealth of ways to explore the Austrian capital. With well over 900,000 downloads, it has already achieved considerable success and was even recognised as Austria's best app shortly after its launch. This recognition is not only reflected in the numbers, but also in the quality and variety of content that "ivie" has to offer.

The app includes 19 carefully curated walks and guided tours known as "Walks" and "Guides". These routes allow users to explore Vienna on foot while protecting the environment in a sustainable way. The "Ringstrasse Walk", which leads along one of the most magnificent boulevards in the world and includes 14 stops, was particularly popular last year. But the "Schönbrunn Walk" and the "Sisi Guide" were also among the top three city tours in the app.

The key to Vienna's hidden gems

But "ivie" is more than just a tourist app. It is a digital platform that makes it possible to discover Vienna in a new and entertaining way. Both visitors and locals benefit from the numerous tips and information offered by "ivie". It is a virtual tour guide that presents both the city's classics and insider tips.

With its innovative approach and versatility, "ivie" has proven to be an indispensable resource for anyone visiting or living in Vienna. Its success is proof of the relevance and added value of digital solutions in the tourism sector and emphasises Vienna's leading role as a liveable and dynamic metropolis.
