Have you ever heard of "sicht:wechsel"?

Art by people with disabilities, sicht:wechsel, spiel:räume

"sicht:wechsel" was founded in 2005 as a non-profit organisation for integrative cultural work in Linz and has been pursuing the goal of promoting art by people with disabilities and presenting it to a broad public for almost 20 years.

Leading personalities from institutions dedicated to working with people with disabilities (Caritas Upper Austria, Upper Austrian Diakoniewerk, Lebenshilfe Upper Austria, Pro Mente Upper Austria and Institut Hartheim) form the board of the association.

The association fulfils its tasks in various formats. Firstly, there is the sicht:wechsel platform, which offers opportunities for further education, dialogue and information specifically for the local inclusive art and culture scene. Then there is the International Integrative Cultural Festival sicht:wechsel, which takes place every three years and offers insights into integrative art in Europe.

In September 2023, the sicht:wechsel academy spiel:räume was launched, where people with and without disabilities could pursue their talents and be inspired by workshop leaders from the art scene. The diverse programme from all art disciplines, the mood and the atmosphere among the more than 400 participants throughout the week were so overwhelming that, in consultation with the subsidy providers, sponsors from the business community, the Anton Bruckner Private University and the University of the Arts, it was decided to hold a spiel:räume academy in the years between the sicht:wechsel festivals, which take place every three years.

From 23 to 27 September 2024, experienced lecturers from all artistic genres will be available to people with and without disabilities for individual creative development with inspiring experiences.

It's #schongenial that there are not only creative ideas for event formats, but also people who actually realise them for the benefit of all. Raising the potential for creativity in society is certainly a worthwhile task. It's great that there are companies such as Sparkasse Oberösterreich, Oberösterreichische Versicherung, Gutenberg Werbering and Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich, without whose commitment such initiatives would not be possible. We would also like to thank them for the #schongenial partnership - already brilliant.

Get an overview of the varied programme, maybe you'll even get a workshop place!
