The Young Theatre of the Landestheater Linz contributes to this every year by offering a varied programme of performances and theatre education especially for schools.
In times of economic uncertainty, however, a visit to the theatre is not equally affordable for all families. It is therefore all the more important that pupils from lower-income households also have the opportunity to take part in such cultural programmes. This is where the innovative cooperation between Sparkasse Oberösterreich and the Landestheater Linz comes in: the Spark(l)assenticket.
The Spark(l)assenticket enables pupils whose families cannot afford a visit to the theatre as part of a school excursion to attend performances at the Junges Theater free of charge. Teachers can request these tickets when booking a visit to the theatre directly via the school booking office at the Landestheater. The principle of trust applies: no proof of the family's financial situation is required.
To ensure that the offer is used fairly, Sparkasse Oberösterreich covers the cost of up to four tickets per pupil. This ensures that no child is excluded from participating in cultural activities due to financial barriers.
"Culture connects people. This is exactly what we want to promote and support with the Spark(l)assentickets cooperation together with our majority shareholder Allgemeine Sparkasse and the Landestheater Linz," emphasises Stefanie Christina Huber, CEO of Sparkasse Oberösterreich.
And Gerald Gutmayer, Chairman of the Management Board of Anteilsverwaltung Allgemeine Sparkasse, further emphasises the importance of this initiative: "With the Spark(l)assentickets, we are promoting the cultural education of pupils in Upper Austria. In the spirit of the common good, it is important to us to provide support and thus enable access to culture for everyone."
Nele Neitzke, Artistic Director of the Junges Theater, is also enthusiastic about the cooperation: "It's a wonderful collaboration that has its finger on the pulse of the times for our young audience. I am delighted and wish us all great times at the theatre."
With the Spark(l)assenticket, Sparkasse Oberösterreich and the Landestheater Linz are sending a strong signal for cultural participation and social responsibility. They enable young people to experience the diversity and richness of theatre art - regardless of their financial situation.
It's #schongenial when young people are given opportunities that broaden their horizons. Cultural education is an investment in a peaceful future. Already brilliant, the Spark(l)assen Ticket.
