The economic environment is changing rapidly: digitalisation, increasing complexity and global competition are constantly presenting companies with new challenges. At the same time, this creates opportunities for organisations that continue to develop their structures and build on their strengths in a targeted manner.

With the Excellence Framework Europe (EFE), Quality Austria provides a modern orientation and assessment framework that supports companies in systematically analysing and further developing their performance. The model helps organisations to determine their current level of maturity, make strengths visible and derive specific potential for improvement. This creates a sound basis for strategic decisions and sustainable growth.

Flexible model for modern organisations

A key advantage of the new framework is its openness and flexibility. In contrast to rigid management models, the EFE combines proven methods with modern approaches and practical tools. As a result, it can be individually adapted to different organisations, sectors and company sizes.

Companies gain a holistic view of their management systems and can integrate excellence into strategy, corporate culture and operational processes in a targeted manner. Particularly in times of transformation and change, the model supports organisations in strengthening their so-called "organisational fitness", i.e. their ability to actively shape change and identify opportunities at an early stage.

Stage for outstanding corporate quality

The Excellence Framework Europe also forms an important basis for the National Award for Corporate Quality, the highest national award for the holistic excellence of organisations in Austria. The competition recognises companies and organisations that stand out through excellent leadership, sustainable strategies and convincing results.

Participation not only offers the chance to win a prestigious award, but also valuable feedback from experienced assessors. This gives organisations a well-founded external perspective on their strengths and development potential.

Companies and organisations with a focus on Austria can apply for the State Prize for Corporate Quality 2026 regardless of their sector or size. The application deadline is 15 March 2026.
