Kinderkrebshilfe Oberösterreich is an anchor for many families in a phase that changes their lives abruptly. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, parents and siblings come under enormous emotional, organisational and often financial pressure.

Kinderkrebshilfe offers support exactly where it is most urgently needed: through counselling, financial assistance, psychosocial support, family relief and offers for joint recreation. As a purely donation-financed organisation, however, it is dependent on people and companies who take responsibility and show solidarity.

Christmas tree vernissage: a charity event with a big impact

A special fixture in the annual calendar is the Christmas tree vernissage organised by OÖ. Kinderkrebshilfe every November. Companies and organisations create lovingly decorated Christmas trees, which are then auctioned off for the benefit of children with cancer and their families. The event in the Traun spinning mill is one of the association's most important fundraising activities and shows year after year how much solidarity there is in the region. The net proceeds enable the children's cancer charity to continue to support families unbureaucratically, quickly and comprehensively.

UNIQA is also a long-standing partner of Kinderkrebshilfe Oberösterreich and supports the Christmas tree vernissage both financially and by publicising the association's important work. For Regional Director Alexander Schinnerl, this commitment is clearly a matter close to his heart: "True to our motto "Living better together", we stand by people when life suddenly turns out differently than planned. However, when a child is diagnosed with cancer, a family needs more than just financial security. They need support, hope and people who stand by their side. That's exactly why we support the children's cancer charity and this wonderful event."

We think this campaign is #schongenial because it uses the festive tradition of the Christmas tree to do something really meaningful.
