In addition to around 8,000 full-time employees, around 75,000 volunteers are involved in the Red Cross throughout Austria alone. Together, they perform over 13 million hours of unpaid work for the common good every year. In the rescue and ambulance service alone, over 3.5 million missions are carried out each year. These impressive figures show how indispensable voluntary work is in the Austrian rescue service.
Volunteer work is the backbone of our rescue services, supported by people who dedicate their free time to the service of others and thus show every day what solidarity really means. They step in where help is needed, take on responsibility and ensure that help is available in every corner of the country. Without them, the Austrian rescue system would not function in this form.
The Pregarten Red Cross - modern, humane, motivated
The Pregarten Red Cross is a perfect example of this commitment. The new centre is one of the most modern in Upper Austria and combines innovation with humanity. Bright, functional rooms, state-of-the-art technology and sustainable construction create ideal conditions for efficient processes and an optimal environment for all those who are on call day and night to save lives.
Full-time staff and volunteers work side by side here, supported by an organisation that focuses on quality, training and community. The Pregarten Red Cross is a place where professionalism and empathy are equally at home.
Strong partners for strong helpers
But even the greatest commitment needs a solid foundation. Voluntary organisations such as the Red Cross can only secure their valuable work in the long term if they can count on reliable support from the business world. This is precisely where the partnership with SIWA comes in.
The company is committed to being a strong partner of the Pregarten Red Cross and shows that social responsibility is more than just a buzzword. SIWA supports where help is needed with commitment and regional solidarity.
Because when people who volunteer to help and companies that take responsibility work together, something greater is created: a network of solidarity and humanity for our country. We think that's #schongenial.
