already ingenious: How do you manage to harmonise sustainable business practices and social responsibility in your company in order to generate long-term success and positive news?
Dr Martin Bergsmann: For Hueck Folien, sustainability is not just an obligation, but a matter of course in order to preserve the foundations for a future worth living. Our view of sustainability encompasses the dimensions of environment, society and economy. We are strategically committed to ecologically neutral production by 2035 and have recently switched our metallisation to 100% recycled aluminium.
schon genial: What specific measures is your company taking to contribute to sustainability at its sites?
Dr Martin Bergsmann: In order to achieve the goal of ecologically neutral production, we focus on energy efficiency and resource conservation in the production of our film coatings. A decisive step was the conversion of our metallisation to 100% recycled aluminium from November 2023.
schon genial: In your opinion, why is sustainability not only a moral obligation, but also makes economic sense?
Dr Martin Bergsmann: Reducing CO2 often leads directly to cost savings. Although the use of recycled materials initially incurs costs, consistent recycling management across the entire supply chain proves to be economically advantageous in the long term. Sustainability also makes a positive contribution to the brand image, even if this effect is difficult to measure.
schon genial: Why do you personally believe that Austria is the best country to drive positive change and promote a sustainable, positive attitude?
