Focus on automatic location transmission
One of the innovative new features of the system is the automatic transmission of the emergency caller's location data. If someone dials the fire brigade emergency number 122 on their mobile phone, the coordinates of their location are immediately forwarded to the alerted fire brigade. In future, this information will guide the emergency services to the scene even more quickly.
FPräs Robert Mayer, MSc, Provincial Fire Service Commander and President of the ÖBFV, explained the importance of this function: "The fire service now knows exactly where it is needed, even in places that are difficult to localise. This saves valuable time and enables efficient deployment planning."
Keywords for more precise categorisation
The system now also uses 180 predefined keywords to precisely categorise the operation. Terms such as "road accident with trapped person" or "fire in a residential building" enable a quick and accurate assessment of the situation. This eliminates the need for a detailed description by the caller and speeds up the alerting process considerably.
Route planning for effective reinforcement
Another notable function of the incident command system is route planning. If necessary, the system indicates which fire brigades in the immediate vicinity should also be alerted in order to receive reinforcements. This feature optimises the use of resources and ensures fast and effective support for larger operations.
"The new incident command system marks a decisive step in the evolution of fire service rescue. With automatic location transmission and intelligent keywords, we are not only optimising our response time, but also setting a new benchmark in the precision and efficiency of emergency call handling. This technological innovation strengthens our mission to protect lives and provide rapid, targeted assistance in critical situations," says Robert Mayer, MSc, Provincial Fire Service Commander and President of the ÖBFV.
The consistency with which the fire service is constantly being improvedis ingenious . We say thank you!
