Properly collected and processed, it can be further processed into various products that bring both ecological and economic benefits.
The utilisation of used cooking oil for the production of biodiesel is particularly important. Almost one litre of fuel can be obtained from one litre of correctly disposed of oil. This is CO₂-neutral, reduces particulate pollution and helps to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. This turns an everyday kitchen waste into a contribution to greater climate protection and energy independence.
But biodiesel is not the only use. Used cooking oil can also be used in the chemical industry as a basis for cleaning agents, lubricants or soaps. By recycling it, products are created that would otherwise have to be made from newly extracted raw materials. In this way, resources are conserved and the circular economy is actively promoted.
Collection machines in all Maximarkt shops
Maximarkt is also taking responsibility for the disposal of used cooking oil. From now on, there will be a used cooking oil collection machine in every Maximarkt store. The principle is simple: at home, the oil is collected in a suitable, sealable container such as an empty cooking oil bottle. At the supermarket, it is emptied into the collection machine and customers receive a voucher for each disposal, which they can redeem immediately at the checkout.
#It's #schongenial that Maximarkt is now making the disposal of used cooking oil so easy and rewarding its customers in the process.
