#schongenial: Mr Baminger, 25 years of Salzburg AG - what does this anniversary mean for the company and for you personally?
Michael Baminger: For 25 years, we have been a reliable partner for energy, mobility, Internet and TV, as well as a pacesetter in the transformation of the energy system. To mark our anniversary, we don't just want to look back, we want to reinforce our promise of the past years and encourage others. The future is not. You make the future. is our DNA and sums up our attitude. The fact that we have succeeded in this over the past 25 years and will continue to do so is guaranteed by our almost 2,800 colleagues who work every day for a Salzburg worth living in. It shows how, together with our employees, customers and partners, we have created a sustainable and innovative infrastructure for Salzburg and will continue to achieve a great deal in the coming years.
#schongenial: In your view, what developments have particularly characterised Salzburg AG over the last 25 years?
Michael Baminger: Digitalisation and the energy transition have certainly been the biggest drivers of our transformation. We have developed from a pure energy supplier into a pacemaker for energy, telecommunications and mobility, which is also active in the areas of telecommunications, transport and digital services. Our focus has always been on sustainable development.
#schongenial: How is Salzburg AG meeting the current challenges, especially in the energy sector?
Michael Baminger: The energy sector is facing major challenges, particularly due to the need to reduce CO₂ emissions while ensuring security of supply. We are driving the expansion of renewables and setting the pace in terms of energy transformation. We have big plans and, thanks to the strategy we have implemented and our six ambitions, we have a clear mission statement to guide us on the path towards 100% renewable energy. In line with the Decarboniser ambition, we want to generate at least 2 TWh of renewable electricity by 2040. We have also reduced our electricity prices for the fourth time in a row this year, as we always pass on any leeway immediately - the keyword here is customer hero. But we also realise that the energy transition cannot work without smart grids. That's why we are also investing in smart grids and innovative technologies to meet these requirements and offer our customers sustainable solutions.
#schongenial: What role do your employees play in this transformation process?
Michael Baminger: Our employees are the core of Salzburg AG. Their expertise, commitment and innovative strength enable us to break new ground and continuously develop. We therefore promote a corporate culture based on collaboration, further training and openness to change. That's why we have a very clear goal in our "Teamplayer" ambition - to become the best employer.
#schongenial: What are your goals for the next 25 years of Salzburg AG?
Michael Baminger: We see ourselves not only as a pacesetter, but also as an enabler. Together we want to create a Salzburg worth living in. We want to make our contribution to a climate-neutral future, develop innovative mobility solutions and continue to drive digitalisation forward. Our goal always remains to offer real added value to the people of Salzburg and beyond.
#schongenial: Thank you very much for the interview and all the best for the future.
