This "handshake quality", as it is colloquially known, characterises the skilled trades. Throughout the province of Salzburg, there are around 800 craft businesses that epitomise these values. The carpentry sector employs almost 3,000 people and trains around 200 apprentices. For the competition initiators, including Holzcluster Salzburg, the Provincial Guild of Carpenters and proHolz Salzburg, this was both the motivation and the aspiration for the 1st Salzburg Carpentry Award to honour the achievements of the skilled trades in an appropriate manner.
Honouring the craft
The Salzburg Carpentry Award was an event that brought together carpentry businesses, planners and proud clients to honour the winning projects. The selection of projects reflected the quality of craftsmanship and demonstrated the diversity and innovative strength of the joinery industry. The submitted projects spanned across various categories such as solitary furniture, room concept, architectural joinery and the special project "AltNeu". Each project represented the passion and skill of the craftsmen, who achieved great results through careful planning and high-quality craftsmanship.
Focus on masterpieces
An expert jury reviewed all the submissions and presented awards and recognition to the outstanding projects. These awards not only underline the mastery of craftsmanship, but also the carpenters' ability to develop innovative solutions that meet the requirements of their clients, recognising the achievements in the trade and underlining the importance of the carpentry trade for the regional economy and culture.
