JuniorSkills Upper Austria is one of the most important skills competitions for apprentices in the skilled trades. Year after year, the best young talent in their respective fields demonstrate their skills and showcase the potential of the dual vocational training system. Working under intense time pressure, with the utmost precision and a great deal of creativity, they produce work of the highest standard, which is assessed by a panel of experts according to strict criteria. For the participants, JuniorSkills is more than just a competition: it is a platform for talent and passion, and the first step on the path to a successful professional career.

Julia Zeschan impresses with her technical perfection

The long-established Jindrak patisserie had cause to celebrate a special success this year. Julia Zeschan, who is completing her apprenticeship at the family-run business in Linz, achieved an outstanding second place at the JuniorSkills Upper Austria 2026 competition for pastry chefs. A total of 15 up-and-coming talents took on the challenging tasks, creating, amongst other things, artistic celebration cakes, delicate marzipan figures, pralines and desserts. Julia impressed the jury with her craftsmanship, creativity and calm approach to her work.

Training rooted in responsibility and tradition

Julia Zeschan’s success is no coincidence. Jindrak Confectioners has been making a conscious investment in training young people for many years and regards apprenticeship training as an essential part of its corporate philosophy. The aim is to pass on the traditional art of confectionery, impart specialist knowledge and support young talent on an individual basis.

This benefits more than just the company itself. Well-trained specialists ensure the long-term quality of the craft, strengthen the local economy and help to preserve valuable traditions for future generations. Particularly in times of a skills shortage, the training of committed apprentices is becoming increasingly important to society.

Leo Jindrak Jr. emphasises this commitment: “Our apprentices are the future of our trade. Those who place their trust in young people, support them and entrust them with responsibility are not only investing in their own company, but in the future of the entire confectionery trade. It makes us particularly proud when this commitment is reflected in successes such as Julia’s.”

Award marks another milestone

However, coming second in the JuniorSkills competition is not the only reason to celebrate. Julia Zeschan passed her final apprenticeship examination with distinction, thereby impressively confirming her exceptional professional achievements. For the long-established Jindrak confectionery, this is further proof that consistent training, personalised support and a passion for the authentic art of confectionery form the basis for lasting success.

#schongenial extends its warmest congratulations on these achievements.
