KGG and UBG play a key role in this early stage of development. They support businesses at a stage when traditional financing criteria often do not yet apply. By conducting a professional assessment of the business model, market opportunities and the entrepreneur’s character, they help to bridge the gap between a promising idea and its financial viability. In doing so, they build trust among founders as well as banks, investors and other partners.
An idea to tackle the skills shortage
The example of the Linz-based start-up Talents & Company illustrates just how important this advance trust can be. The founders, Mario Derntl, Christoph Shawa and Fabian Dopler, are tackling one of the key challenges of our time: the shortage of apprentices and skilled workers.
The idea behind it is as simple as it is relevant. Talents & Company helps companies find young talent, train them successfully and retain them in the long term. Particularly in Upper Austria, where apprenticeships play a central role in the economy, the company has struck a chord.
When the founders set out with their vision, they were convinced of their concept. What was missing, however, was proof that the model already worked in the market. It was precisely at this crucial stage that they received support from the Upper Austrian Start-up Fund, which is managed by KGG and UBG.
Turning potential into impact
The funding gave the young company the necessary breathing space to hire its first employees, establish structures and further develop its business model. At the same time, the collaboration provided valuable feedback. The in-depth examination of the business plan, strategy and market positioning helped the founding team to refine their own objectives and put the company on a stable footing.
Today, Talents & Company employs eleven staff and supports around 150 businesses with apprentice recruitment and development. The company also organises a Europe-wide training conference and makes a tangible contribution to securing a skilled workforce.
#absolutelybrilliant when companies like KGG and UBG act as bridge-builders between innovative ideas and their successful implementation.
