#schongenial: Dr Reiter-Prinz, what is psychosocial health?
Karin Reiter-Prinz: Psychosocial health means that a person feels mentally and emotionally well. It makes it possible to cope with everyday stress, work productively and maintain positive relationships. This well-being is influenced by various factors, including social contacts, economic conditions and the environment.
#schongenial: What is the task of pro mente Reha in this context?
Karin Reiter-Prinz: pro mente Reha is a non-profit organisation that operates medical-psychiatric rehabilitation facilities in Austria. Our mission is to support people with mental illness - i.e. those who have lost their psychosocial health as mentioned above - through inpatient and outpatient programmes, to improve their quality of life and to promote their professional and social participation. We offer individual therapy programmes that are tailored to the specific needs of our patients.
#schongenial: One of your facilities is Sonnenpark Bad Hall, for example. How do you help people there to strengthen their psychosocial health?
Karin Reiter-Prinz: Sonnenpark Bad Hall is a centre for psychosocial health in Upper Austria. We offer a six-week inpatient stay where our patients are accommodated in one of our 120 single rooms, including six barrier-free rooms. An interdisciplinary team of medical specialists, psychotherapists, psychologists and occupational therapists work closely with patients to create and achieve individual rehabilitation goals. Our facility is located right next to the spa gardens and just a few minutes from the centre of Bad Hall. The peaceful surroundings in the foothills of the Alps with views of the surrounding mountains offer ideal conditions for recovery and recuperation.
#schongenial: Who is this offer aimed at?
Karin Reiter-Prinz: Our programme is aimed at men and women from all over Austria who are restricted in their ability to work due to mental illness. This includes people who are at risk of early retirement, require intensive follow-up treatment after acute psychiatric illnesses or suffer from chronic mental disorders.
#schongenial: How is appreciation practised in your facilities?
Karin Reiter-Prinz: Appreciation is a central component of our work. We attach great importance to treating our patients and employees with respect and recognition. This promotes a positive working atmosphere and supports the recovery process of our patients.
#schongenial: How can interested parties find out more about your services?
Karin Reiter-Prinz: You can find detailed information about our facilities, therapy programmes and the application process on our website at www.promente-reha.at. Our team is also available for personal enquiries.
#schongenial: Thank you very much for the interview, Dr Reiter-Prinz.
