The energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings is one of the greatest levers for climate protection. At the same time, it is often considered expensive, complex and difficult to realise. An innovation from Styria now shows that building renovation can also be efficient, sustainable and practical, setting new standards in the process.

Holistic refurbishment instead of piecemeal work

The Styrian approach abandons traditional individual measures such as insulated insulation or the replacement of individual components. Instead, the building is viewed as a complete system. The building envelope, energy supply and utilisation are planned and coordinated together. The result is refurbishment solutions that not only significantly reduce energy consumption, but also make economic sense in the long term.

Prefabricated elements as the key to efficiency

Prefabricated façade and construction elements are a central component of the innovation. These are manufactured industrially and assembled on site in a short space of time. Several functions are combined in the modules - from thermal insulation and windows to the use of renewable energy. This significantly reduces construction time, costs and emissions while minimising the impact on residents during renovation.

Innovation through collaboration

This new approach is the result of close collaboration between companies, research institutions and developers in the Styrian green tech environment. The exchange between practice and research ensures that innovative ideas are quickly transformed into realisable solutions. This turns technological development into concrete added value for buildings, users and the environment.

It's #schongenial when domestic innovations make sustainable refurbishments faster, more affordable and more effective, thereby making an important contribution to climate-friendly buildings and liveable cities.

It's nice to see so many positive things:
