This event, which takes place every two years, opens its doors between 17:00 and 23:00 at over 270 locations throughout Austria. With more than 2,800 programme items, it offers a varied programme for all age groups.

Visitors can immerse themselves in exhibitions, guided tours, hands-on stations, quizzes, science shows and discussions with experts. Under the motto "Join in. Marvel. Discover.", the event covers nine subject areas: Digitalisation, Energy, Society, Health, Culture, Natural Sciences, Technology, Environment and Economy. The Long Night of Research offers insights into a wide range of research areas, from robotics and artificial intelligence to smart mobility, medical innovations and art at the interface with science.
