The Caritas initiative with its learning cafés ensures that this right is realised. Since their launch in 2011, the learning cafés have helped to break down barriers and make education accessible to all. With 68 locations across the country, they serve as beacons of hope for children looking for support and opportunities.
A platform for education and social integration
The Caritas learning cafés are no ordinary tutoring centres. They are a place where children and young people are not only supported with their homework, but also find a space to make friends and develop their talents. Since their inception, they have reached over 2,100 children and young people, including many from migrant backgrounds.
Commitment to a better future
At the heart of the learning cafés are the 960 or so volunteers who make their work possible. They are supported by professional teams who ensure that every child receives the individual attention and support they need. These efforts have paid off, as the statistics show: In the last school year, 96% of the children and young people looked after successfully completed their respective school level.By promoting education and social integration, the learning cafés help to create a society in which every child has the opportunity to realise their full potential and contribute to a better future for all.
The Caritas learning cafés are not only a place of learning, but also of hope and opportunity. They show that through joint efforts and commitment, a better future is possible for all children in Austria.
