In a show of solidarity, the pupils aged 8 to 14 ran laps together for a good cause: with each stadium lap, they collected donations in favour of Special Olympics Upper Austria and eight special schools from the region.
Thanks to the dedicated cooperation with Licht ins Dunkel, the sports4everybody association, the Upper Austrian Education Directorate, the city of Vöcklabruck, our #schongenial partner UNIQA Upper Austria and SOOÖ, the event was a great success. Special thanks go to the many volunteers and generous sponsors who made this event possible in the first place.
The pupils, who ran in mixed groups of disabled and non-disabled children, showed their impressive solidarity. After the run, all participants received a medal in recognition before the collected donations totalling 1500 euros each were presented to the eight selected schools at a closing event. A great opportunity for all participants to combine sporting ambition and fun - and do something really worthwhile in the process.
