In order to provide well-founded answers to these questions at an early stage, Binder+Co operates its own technical centre in Gleisdorf, where recycling processes can be tested under realistic conditions. The technical centre was opened back in the 1980s in the presence of the then Minister of Science, Hertha Firnberg.
The technical centre is equipped with industrial machines - including screening machines, modern sorting solutions and a fluidised bed drying plant. This allows complete process steps to be simulated, analysed and adapted to specific material properties. The aim is to create planning security and provide a reliable technical basis for subsequent investments.
Real conditions, meaningful results
A wide variety of materials can be tested in the technical centre - including glass, waste wood, metal and electronic scrap or other fractions from the secondary raw materials sector. The tests provide data on key parameters such as throughput, particle size distribution, residual moisture, selectivity and product purity.
Smaller quantities of material are often sufficient to make well-founded statements about the feasibility and efficiency of a process. This makes it possible to adapt technical concepts specifically to the respective application - whether in the development of new systems or in the optimisation of existing processes. The tests can also help to estimate plant or energy requirements more realistically and thus avoid subsequent planning errors or unnecessary additional costs.
Evaluation as a basis for planning and decision-making
Once the material tests have been completed, customers receive a detailed evaluation. Depending on the issue, this includes analyses of the particle size, moisture and composition of the processed material. The data can be used for the technical design of systems, the profitability assessment of a project or for feasibility studies.
The test process enables realistic assessments of how a process would behave on an industrial scale. The technical centre thus serves as an important interface between research, technology and industrial practice.
Knowledge transfer and development partnership
In addition to carrying out tests, Binder+Co also sees itself as a partner in the area of knowledge transfer. The experts on site have many years of experience in the processing of raw and secondary raw materials and can also provide conceptual support for the tests on request.
For companies, this means lower risk, sound data and a clearer picture of possible solutions - before investing.
