The aim of the action weeks is to make violence, discrimination and hatred visible both in sport and in society and to take a firm stand against them.
The message is clear: violence has no place, neither on the sports field nor anywhere else. The campaign calls on people to take a stand, stand up for respect and diversity and actively oppose all forms of violence. The focus is particularly on the issue of violence against women.
Campaigns and initiatives throughout Austria
During the campaign weeks, numerous events, activities and campaigns were organised to draw attention to the issue. Clubs, players and fans were encouraged to get actively involved. Whether through symbolic gestures such as wearing fair play armbands, through workshops or public statements - those involved sent out a clear signal against discrimination and violence.
A particular focus of this year's action weeks was on raising awareness of violence in the family and social environment. In addition to sport, schools, youth groups and other social organisations were also involved in order to extend the campaign's sphere of influence.
Blau-Weiß Linz takes a stand
FC Blau-Weiß Linz also supported the fairplay campaign weeks with an impressive campaign. At the home match against WAC, the club sent out a clear signal against violence, sexism and hatred.
The club's message was unmistakable: "Violence against women is still commonplace in our society. We must work together to counteract this decisively! Because violence is not a game - neither on the sports field nor in the family or anywhere else. It is up to all of us to recognise, address and prevent violence. Don't look away! Take a stand against sexism, hatred and violence. Make sport a safe place for everyone. Because showing respect is true strength."
With this clear message, Blau-Weiß Linz encouraged spectators and fans to actively take responsibility. Violence must not be ignored and it is up to each and every individual to stand up for peaceful and respectful coexistence.
