But where there is more speed and technology involved, the risk of accidents also increases: Upper Austria has around 1,200 cycling accidents per year - many of which involve e-bikes.
The new mobility therefore also requires new skills. This is precisely where the E-Bike Safety Tour comes in - an initiative of the state of Upper Austria (Transport Department), which is supported by Raiffeisen Upper Austria as a partner in 2025. The aim is to increase safety and prevent accidents through targeted training.
Safely to your destination with the Safety Days
Between April and October 2025, free e-bike safety training courses will be held throughout Upper Austria - especially for cyclists aged 50 and over. In compact 3-hour courses, e-bike professional Bernhard Huber shows what really matters in everyday life: balance, braking, cornering behaviour, correct starting off. Theoretical knowledge is not neglected either: from the right equipment and legal regulations to correct battery care.
The best thing is that you train directly on your own e-bike - so you can put the tips into practice straight away. Regional partner companies will also be on hand to provide valuable tips on technology, accessories and service. All information and dates at: www.bike-experts.at/safety-day
