In mid-May 2025, he was a guest at GRG7 in Vienna's 7th district as part of the DigitalCity.Vienna education initiative. His topic: "The 6 laws of success " - a lecture that left an impression. We spoke to him about why this commitment is so important to him and what he wants to pass on to young people.
#schongenial: Mr Pix, you are very busy at work. Why do you still take the time to talk to pupils about success?
Gerhard Pix: Because it's really important to me. I see how many young people look to the future with uncertainty - be it in terms of career choice, self-image or personal goals. I want to give them tools to help them find their bearings. And above all, I want to encourage them to believe in themselves. Because real change always starts with your own thinking.
#schongenial: In your presentation, you talked about "The 6 laws of success" - what's behind them?
Gerhard Pix: The six terms I used are: Determination, Direction, Family, Orientation, Passion and Limitlessness - together they make up the word SUCCESS. Behind this is a holistic understanding of what it really takes to be successful - not just at work, but in life. It's not just about achieving a goal, but about who you become in the process.
#schongenial: What was your central message to the students?
Gerhard Pix: That success is not a product of chance. It takes discipline, consistency, perseverance - and the will to constantly work on yourself. I also taught them that it's not enough to just set yourself so-called "have" goals - in other words, things that you want to own one day. It is much more important to ask yourself: Who do I actually want to be? If you can answer this question, your own actions will take on a completely different direction. And it is precisely this that later leads to what many call success.
#schongenial: How do the young people react to your presentation?
Gerhard Pix: Very open, to be honest. It was a real exchange - not just a lecture. Many of them asked questions, brought in their own experiences or critically questioned what I said. That shows me that they have really engaged with the topic. I am convinced that some of them were able to take a lot away with them - perhaps not everything straight away, but sometimes a thought that sticks is enough.
#schongenial: And what do you personally take away from such lectures?
Gerhard Pix: A lot. These talks remind me of what really matters. It also just feels good to pass on something that has helped me myself. If just one or two students are motivated by my words to walk their path more consciously, then it was worth it.
#It's #schongenial when someone who bears responsibility also feels responsible and is willing to invest time, experience and heart and soul - in the people who will shape our future.
