A special afternoon began on 5 March 2026 at Ignaz-Harrer-Straße 84 with curious glances at the first paintings, initial conversations between familiar and new faces and a noticeably open atmosphere. gswb officially opened its new "Kunst am Hof" event series at 4:30 p.m. and was delighted to welcome a large number of visitors right from the start. Almost 100 visitors accepted the invitation: representatives from business and politics, Salzburg residents interested in art, gswb service providers and numerous employees took the opportunity to experience art together.

Art as an occasion for encounters

The theme of the first exhibition was "Time Travel". The two artists Brigitte Längle and Günter Pollhammer presented works that took the public on a visual journey through different eras, emotions and perspectives. Lively conversations quickly developed between the expressive pictures: guests stopped, exchanged impressions and discussed art as well as professional topics and personal experiences.

It was precisely this mixture that made the event so special. The vernissage offered space for exchange, encounters and getting to know each other personally. Many guests met people for the first time with whom they had previously only had contact by phone or email.

Dialogue over art, drinks and snacks

This dialogue continued over drinks and snacks. People talked shop, laughed and discussed - about art as well as current topics from everyday working life. The relaxed atmosphere made it easy to talk to each other and make new contacts. The idea behind the new "Kunst am Hof" format was particularly appreciated: Bringing people from different areas together and creating a platform where art becomes a unifying element.

The "Time Travels" exhibition will now be on display on the first floor of the gswb for six months. The series will then be continued with other artists. The successful launch has already shown how much interest there is in this format.

The gswb: living space and responsibility

gswb is a non-profit building association owned by the province and city of Salzburg and has been making a significant contribution to affordable housing and housing security in the province for almost 90 years. With more than 25,000 flats under management, it is Salzburg's largest property manager. As a non-profit building association in accordance with the Austrian Non-Profit Housing Act, its mission is to create high-quality, affordable housing and to secure it for future generations.

#schongenial when art is made accessible to a broader target group in such a low-threshold way.
