Children kicked side by side with professional footballers
At the last public training session, more than 60 children responded to the call to watch the professionals at work. But watching was not the only thing on the programme. The coaching team, led by head coach Gerald Scheiblehner, opened the doors to individual exercises and stations so that the young fans could get active themselves and train with the professionals. This unique opportunity put a smile on the children's faces and offered an unforgettable insight into the world of professional football.
Public training sessions become a crowd-puller
Closeness between the club and fans is a central component of FC Blau-Weiß Linz's growth strategy. Christoph Peschek, Managing Director of the club, emphasised the importance of these events:
"We are delighted that numerous children turned up at the public training session. This confirms that we are on the right track with our growth strategy. As we all know, we are a club that you can touch, so it is particularly important to us to make something like this possible for the fans. With this closeness, we also want to appeal to new target groups and, in particular, retain the fans of the next generation.
Head coach Gerald Scheiblehner also emphasised the importance of these interactions between professionals and fans:
“I don't think it's that often that kids get to train with professionals. It was great fun for both our players and the children. The role we have as a club, as coaches and as players, is also to set an example, and we used this role well.”
The public training sessions are not only an opportunity for the fans to experience their idols up close, but also for the club to build a strong bond with its community. The upcoming dates for public training sessions will be announced in good time on the FC Blau-Weiß Linz website and social media channels so that all interested parties can continue to take part.
