The challenge is part of the DaVinciLab’s TalentsLounge, an innovative learning platform for teaching the compulsory subject ‘Digital Literacy’. The aim is to introduce lower secondary school pupils to topics such as programming, digital technologies and problem-solving in a fun and engaging way. This project is made possible thanks to the support of Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich.
More than 2,500 hours of programming experience gained
The challenge has now been successfully completed and the winners announced. First place in the overall rankings went to the class from BRG Hamerling. Second place went to MS 15 Leonardo da Vinci, followed by TNMS 3 Stelzhamerschule.
Over a period of more than six months, the participating classes demonstrated their skills. The competition was designed to involve all year groups and deliberately focused on collaboration and creative solutions in the digital sphere. In recognition of their achievements, the winning classes were treated to an exclusive guided tour of the Raiffeisen Arena. The top pupils in the individual rankings were also rewarded with tickets to a LASK match.
Digital skills as the key to the future
At the awards ceremony, Sigrid Burkowski, Member of the Board of Raiffeisenlandesbank OÖ, emphasised: “We want to support schools in preparing young people for the digital future. With the TalentsLounge, we are creating new opportunities to teach digital skills in a practical way.”
Anna Gawin, founder of the TalentsLounge and DaVinciLab, also sees the initiative as an important contribution to modern education: “Digital education thrives on participation. Through playful approaches and practical projects, pupils are motivated to try out new things and develop important skills for the future. The collaboration with RLB OÖ is an important step for digital education in Linz.”
The “RLB OÖ TalentsLounge Challenge” thus demonstrates in a #brilliant way how schools, business and innovative learning platforms can work together to spark enthusiasm for technology.
