Especially in business life, where stress and competitive pressure often set the tone, a culture of appreciation can not only increase motivation, but also create sustainable relationships.
Despite technological advances, personal interaction remains a key factor. Customers, partners and employees expect not only expertise, but also a feeling of being listened to and taken seriously.
Success through commitment and consistency
One company that consistently follows this path is Oberösterreichische Versicherung. It relies on individual customer care and a strong team characterised by many years of experience and commitment. Johannes Födermayr is one of the people who characterise this company. He has been one of the most successful sales employees for many years and shows that success in business is not only based on consistency, expertise and personal commitment.
With joy and structure to success - A conversation with Johannes Födermayr
#schongenial: Mr Födermayr, what is the secret of your many years of success in sales?
Johannes Födermayr: I enjoy going to work every day. Structure, speed, punctuality and accuracy are my basic principles. I set myself clear annual targets and work consistently towards them. I've achieved most of my goals by the summer holidays, after which I'm already planning the coming year.
#schongenial: Has customer acquisition changed in recent years?
Johannes Födermayr: Not fundamentally. Personal contact is still the most important element. Many customers inform themselves online, but they prefer to conclude contracts in a personal meeting. On the one hand, I can convince them with customised solutions and my expertise. But a big part of my success is also my respectful approach to both my customers and my colleagues.
#schongenial: What characterises a successful customer relationship?
Johannes Födermayr: Trust and commitment. I am always available for my customers and respond quickly to enquiries. Taking notes helps me not to forget any details. Punctuality is just as important as expertise, as this is the only way to create a long-term and successful customer relationship.
#schongenial: Oberösterreichische was named "Top Company 2025". How do you see that?
Johannes Födermayr: This award is more than deserved. Oberösterreichische is not only a top employer, but also a company that lives and breathes regionality and customer proximity. Decisions are made right here, not by a distant head office. Our managers always have an open ear for us. As a result, we are flexible, social and successful as a company. I am proud to have been part of this team for more than 33 years.
#schongenial: Thank you very much for the interview and all the best!
